In my professional career, I have been involved with many product development activities in different verticals from developing mission critical flight software for the International Space Station, to providing wireless telecommunication technologies, or Software as a Service for multi-channel marketing. I can say without any doubts that none of these projects that I have been part of failed or succeeded because of the technology choices, or technology issues, or infrastructure or platform related issues. They also did not fail or succeed only because of A players or lack of having all the right players. They failed solely because of human related or impacted issues such as prioritization, decision making, inspiration, motivation, culture, and overall company energy issues. All these equate to “Leadership.”
